The Water Resources Act (Scotland) 2013 placed a requirement on Scottish Ministers to report to the Scottish Parliament on what steps they were taking to protect and grow Scotland’s ‘water assets’. These assets include our nationally owned water utility, Scottish Water, our globally recognised academic sector, and our growing R&D intensive SME businesses, many of who are already exporting their products and services overseas.
This event will drill down into the opportunities in the fast-growing water and wastewater sector. It’s a global market, set to double by 2019 from $47.7bn to $93.3 bn (WWWT2015); annual expenditure on water related infrastructure in EU and BRICS countries expected to be up to 1 trillion between 2014 and 2025 (OECD) and market growth at 11% in 40 countries in 2013 in water treatment.
Presentations will be heard on international market opportunities; Hydro Nation – an accelerating growth sector and specialist development centres; case studies and innovation support.
